Workshop – LED, Mushroom & Yarn Throwies
Graffiti Research Lab Berlin is offereing a Throwie-Lab. Throwies are small, most often magnetic objects that can be attatched to a surface out of reach by throwing. The classic is the LED-Throwie, a simple LED-battery-magnet unit. But in the past new forms of Throwies have appeared such as Yarn-Throwies, LED-Mud-Thowies and textile Mushroom-Throwies. Providing a variety of materials, we want to experiment with the existing forms of Throwies and come up with new breeds and/or hybrids within the Throwie family.
Fee: Donations for materials happily accepted.

Graffiti Research Lab (GRL) is an international network of street and media artists dedicated to outfitting graffiti artists with open source technologies for urban communication.
Graffiti Research Lab Germany(GRLG) is a collective of hackers, coders, artists and vandals who consider themselves activists who use technology as a tool for intervention in the public space. We see interaction with the public and public space as a way to reclaim and rethink the relationship between the individual and the urban environment. As a group we develop participatory media interventions that bring together open source technologies and the philosophy and aesthetics of graffiti. Our goal is to share media and technology skills with any and everyone, hoping to engage and inspire individuals and communities to claim more control over their immediate environment.
GRLG, was founded in 2010 and is based in Berlin. Currently GRLG activities are organized by Hauke Altmann, Semiramis Ceylan, Raphael de Courville and Jaime Schwartz.

Graffiti Research Lab Berlin bietet einen Throwie workshop an. Throwies sind kleine, meist magnetische Objekte, die man an Oberflächen durch Werfen anbringen kann, die außer Reichweite sind. Der Klassiker ist der LED Throwie, ein simple LED-Batterie-Magnet Einheit. Aber in der Vergangenheit sind neue Formen entstanden wie Garn-Throwies, LED-Matsch-Thowies und textile Pilz-Throwies. Mit einem großen Materialangebot wollen wir mit den schon bestehenden Throwies experimentieren und neue Sorten und Hybriden der Throwie Family entwickeln.

Graffiti Research Lab (GRL) ist ein internationales Netzwerk von Street- und Mediakünstlern, die sich dem Ausstatten von Graffiti Künstlern mit Open Source Technologien für die urbane Kommunikation verschrieben hat.
Graffiti Research Lab Germany(GRLG) ist ein Kollektiv von Hackern, Codern, Künstlern und Vandalen, die sich selbst als Aktivisten sehen und Technologie als Werkzeug für die Intervention des öffentlichen Raums benutzen. Wir sehen die Interaktion mit der Öffentlichkeit und dem öffentlichen Raum als einen Weg zur Zurückgewinnung der urbanen Umgebung und des Neuüberdenkens der Beziehung des Individuums und der urbanen Umwelt.
Als Gruppe entwickeln wir mediale Interventionen, die Open Source Technologien und die Philosophie und Ästhetik von Graffiti verbinden. Unser Ziel ist es Medien und technologische Fähigkeiten mit Jedem zu teilen, in der Hoffnung Individuen und Gemeinschaften zu animieren und inspirieren die Kontrolle über ihre unmittelbare Umgebung wiederzuerlagen.
