I have been helping a little and will be there as well on 11th in the evening, so if you are here and want to meet us, come on over!

Official Announcement, Enjoy:

Wear It is the first festival for wearable electronics and arts in Berlin

On the 11th and 12th of October 2014 the “Wear It” festival will take place at Betahaus Berlin. There will be two days dedicated to fashion, electronic textiles, music and wearable sensors. The festival kicks off with workshops, performances and an exhibition. The second day brings together international high level speakers, to share insights into their work during the conference.

On the first day you can build your own piece of wearable technology in workshops led by well known artists. You can immediatly wear your work at the evening party at Platoon Kunsthalle, where you can also see the work of professional wearable artists like Maartje Dijkstra and her baroque techno dress or her Mi.Mu data glove, used by the London based musician Imogen Heap. We will also bring you exciting performance acts like a laser hula hoop show or “Jenny´s Playlist” a band clad in interactive LED costumes.

On the second day the conference showcases international speakers from across the field of wearable technologies. Our lineup includes Kate Hartman from Social Body Lab in Toronto. Hartman, a star of the wearable electronics scene long before her TED talk in 2011 brought her work to wider attention. Hartman creates items of clothing and accessories that communicate with each other and the surrounding environment. Her work has been shown at Museum of Modern Art in New York among other renowned spaces. After the talks we invite all conference attendees to our afterhours party, hosted in the same venue as the conference, it couldn’t be easier to socialise, have drinks and discuss new ideas.

Kate baut z.B.
